TOMATO CURRY
COOKING TIME: 30 MINUTES
SERVINGS: 4 SERVES
INGREDIENTS:
1. Tomato: 1/2kg
2. Oil: 2 table spoons
3. Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon (haldi)
4. Coriander powder: 1/2 teaspoon (dhania)
5. Fenugreek powder: 1/4 teaspoon (methi)
6. Cumin seeds: 1 teaspoon
7. Garlic cloves: 10
8. Salt: 1 teaspoon
9. Chilly powder: 2 teaspoon
10. Coriander leaves: 1/4 th cup (optional)
11. Curry leaves: 1/4 th cup (optional)
12. Fenugreek leaves: 1/4cup (optional)
PREPARATION:
1. First diced the tomatoes into small pieces.
2. Take the garlic cloves and the ½ teaspoon cumin seeds into a hand grinder and crush them.
3. Keep this garlic-cumin mixture aside for now.
PROCEDURE:
1. Take a pan, place it on a stove and on the stove.
2. Then add oil to it and then add the remaining cumin seeds to it.
3. Then add the fenugreek powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder
and the garlic-cumin mixture, curry leaves.
4. Mix them and wait for a minute.
5. Now add the diced tomatoes and immediately add the salt and chilly powder ( if you want you can add half of the turmeric powder and coriander powder here and the other half should be added at the beginning, by doing this will increase the flavour).
6. Mix them properly and close the lid so that water will ooze out and the tomatoes will be cooked fastly.
7. Wait for 10 minutes if you keep the flame high or wait for 15-20 minutes if you keep the flame low to medium.
8. Also, do not forget stir the curry frequently while waiting.
(it’s better to keep the flame low to medium, by this tomatoes will be cooked properly and your curry will be yummiest)
9. Once the tomatoes are properly cooked, don’t forget to add coriander leaves at the end and off the stove
10. That’s it your tomato curry is ready!
